En NEZCOWe offer comprehensive solutions for power factor correction, optimizing the use of electrical energy in industrial and commercial systems. Our approach is aligned with the new regulatory provisions, ensuring efficiency and regulatory compliance in all our implementations.
What is Power Factor?
El power factor It is an indicator of the efficiency in the use of electrical energy. It represents the relationship between active power (the power that performs useful work) and apparent power (the total power supplied). A low power factor indicates energy waste, which can cause overloads, equipment failures and higher operating costs.
Importance of Power Factor Correction
Maintaining a high power factor is essential to improve energy efficiency, reduce losses in the power grid and lower operating costs. At NEZCO, we implement solutions such as: capacitor banks and specialized devices to compensate for reactive energy, increasing the availability of active power in your system.
Compliance with Agreement CRE A/073/2023
Since January 2024, the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) has increased power factor requirements from 90% to 95%, applying to users with APMT, RAMT, GDMTO, GDMTH, DIST and DIT rates, with demands greater than 1 MW. These new guidelines require more rigorous control of the measured power factor, both in CFE bills and in compliance with the Grid Code.
